Community Recycling Centres
Shire of Mundaring's waste disposal and recycling sites are called 'Community Recycling Centres'. These sites are for disposing of waste and recyclables that you cannot place in your bins or put out during a verge collection.
- Access to the Community Recycling Centres is limited to Shire of Mundaring residents only.
- An 'Entry Pass' must be presented at the gate. (Note, if you are renting a property, you will need to obtain the entry pass from the owner or managing agent.)
- Proof of user validity e.g. driver's licence, must be produced when requested by the gate attendant.
- Loads must be sorted, to enable placement into the required areas.
- Directions and instructions from staff must be followed at all times.
- No commercial waste, commercial vehicles or vehicles with a payload greater than two tonnes are allowed at either Community Recycling Centre.
- Unauthorised use of the Community Recycling Centre Entry Pass may result in confiscation.
Located at both Coppin Road and Mathieson Road Community Recycling Centres, the reuse shops enable our residents to access and donate household items in good condition. Please note that the Grab N Go Reuse shops are not open on rainy days to ensure safety and prevent rain damage to shop items.
Please place donated items that still have valuable reuse life, neatly in the shop.
You are welcome to take any items at no cost.
A Community Recycling Centre Entry Pass grants homeowners and residents in the Shire of Mundaring access to the Shire's Community Recycling Centres in Mundaring and Chidlow.
An entry pass entitles the resident to:
- Three entries for general waste disposal to landfill* renewed each financial year
- Unlimited entry and disposal of certain recyclables, separated into different areas for recycling
- Unlimited entries and disposal of green waste disposal
*Additional entries for general waste can be purchased (see below).
The entry pass is now electronic and can be stored on your phone or printed.
Residents can register at the My Mundaring online portal to obtain an electronic pass.
The last issued entry pass card can continue to be used indefinitely.

We have moved towards a paperless environment and electronic passes. The hard copy entry pass is valid to use each year.
Residents have several options available to ensure an easy transition to the new system. Additional information can be found in the 'frequently asked questions' section below.
