The concept of a Community Bank gained lots of support from our local community, and from the day the branch opened its doors we have continued to grow, breaking even after 2 years and reporting our first profit in June 2005. Since 2002 we have contributed more than $2.3 million to community groups, returned over $800,000 as dividends to shareholders, opened more than 10,000 bank accounts, approved loans in excess of $60 million, employed more than 50 local Hills people and had the active guidance of 32 local Hills people in their role as a director of our community bank.
We provide a complete range of banking services with the personal touch only the 5th biggest bank can provide. Over the years we have supported hundreds of local community groups including sporting groups, playgroups, schools, choirs, bands, local residents groups, our local Chamber of Commerce, Guides, Scouts, seniors, environment groups, youth groups and many, many more.
We aim to partner with our community groups to build a stronger more resilient community, to assist them to improve services, support volunteers and build community assets – both people and buildings. We are working for the future of our community – to ensure that our community of the future can enjoy the same benefits as our community of today.
