In an exciting initiative to support families and promote water safety, the WA Government has announced that VacSwim swimming lessons will be offered free of charge during the upcoming December and January school holidays. As part of this cost-of-living relief measure, children enrolled in VacSwim at Bilgoman and Mt Helena Aquatic Centres will also enjoy complimentary entry to the venues for the full duration of their lesson. (Please note: free entry applies for children and their parents/guardians attending lessons only and does not apply for general entry into the facilities).
The program aims to make essential swimming and water safety lessons more accessible by removing financial barriers. The Department of Education will manage advance payments to venues, covering entry costs for enrolled children.
Bilgoman and Mt Helena Aquatic Centres are proud to support this initiative, which provides local children with the opportunity to develop critical water safety skills. They look forward to welcoming VacSwim participants this summer.
For more information on VacSwim enrolments and details about the program, visit the Department of Education’s VacSwim website: VacSwim - Department of Education. Please note enrolments close on Wednesday 16 October 2024.
