Did you know, the Shire of Mundaring has an above average number of older residents compared to other local governments in the metropolitan area?
More than 11,600 residents aged 55 years and over call our community ‘home’.
Planning for an ‘age friendly’ future is vitally important.
An age-friendly community is one that:
- Recognises diversity
- Promotes inclusion and contribution
- Respects the decisions and lifestyle choices of older people
- Responds flexibly to ageing related needs.
The Age Friendly Informing Strategy 2020–2025, aims to promote age friendly initiatives and enhance the quality of life of older adults as they age in Shire of Mundaring region. It was developed in line with the World Health Organisation’s Age Friendly Cities and Communities Framework.
