The Lake currently has 17 canoes and six stand up paddle boards which are available for hire.

Opening days and times

Canoe and stand up paddle board hire is currently closed for the winter season.

Hire will re-commence on Saturday 21 September 2024.

Hire times are between 10am and 3pm on weekends, public holidays and summer school holidays (except Christmas Day).

Please note:

  • The latest time for half hour hire is 2.30pm
  • The latest time for a full hour hire is 2pm
  • Canoes and stand up paddle boards are not available for hire during inclement weather (inclement weather includes forecast storms, heavy rain and strong winds). To avoid disappointment, please contact Perth Hills Mundaring Visitor Centre before visiting the Lake on these days
  • Canoe and stand up paddle board hire is not available on Christmas Day.

Hire cost

  • $17 for 30 minutes
  • $27 for one hour

Payment is by card only, no cash is taken.

Paddle board hire

Hirers must be aged over 16 and a competent swimmer.

Only one person per paddle board is allowed.

Canoe hire

Hirers must be aged over 16 and a competent swimmer. There must be at least one competent swimmer per canoe; this person must be able to look after non-swimmers.

Group bookings

Group bookings for canoes must be made outside of normal operating hours.

Full payment is required at the time of booking. Groups wishing to book canoes outside of usual hire operating times will be required to provide their own public liability insurance cover.
