In 2023, Shire of Mundaring ran a photography competition with the winning entries to be featured in a new wildlife booklet. The response exceeded expectations and we received hundreds of beautiful images.

We have used some of those photos as the foundation for the new online booklet titled Wildlife of the Perth Hills. While not exhaustive, the booklet introduces many commonly encountered species found in the shire. Our aim is for the booklet to help residents learn about our wildlife and their habitat needs. There are also suggestions and resources for those who want to enhance their backyard biodiversity.

The booklet will be available in print at a later stage however, we encourage you to view the electronic version below. We welcome feedback to ensure we have no typing errors or incorrect facts in the future printed version.
