Shire of Mundaring is pleased to announce the appointment of David Clear as our new Manager of Recreation and Tourism Services.

David brings extensive experience and a strong passion for community engagement, sport and recreation. With a background in team building, coaching and engagement practices, David is committed to creating opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to play sport, pursue their favourite recreational activities and contribute through volunteering.
Aligned with our Council Plan and our focus on supporting sustainable communities, David will lead the Recreation and Tourism team in delivering programs and services that enhance community health and wellbeing. This includes supporting access and inclusion, promoting active lifestyles and ensuring the Shire provides suitable places and facilities for residents to connect, participate and thrive.

Shire CEO Jason Whiteaker said “David’s extensive experience and leadership in community engagement make him the ideal person to lead our Recreation and Tourism team. His passion for creating opportunities for people to connect, be active and contribute to our community aligns perfectly with our Council Plan’s focus.”

David added, “I’m excited to lead the Recreation and Tourism team as we work together to deliver meaningful outcomes for the community. By fostering opportunities for participation in sport and recreation, we help strengthen the fabric of our community and improve overall wellbeing.”

We would also like to acknowledge outgoing Manager Kirk Kitchen for his significant contributions to the Shire during his 19 years of dedicated service. His leadership has helped lay a strong foundation for recreation and tourism in the Shire, and we thank him for his lasting impact.

We look forward to David’s leadership in helping create vibrant, inclusive and sustainable opportunities for everyone in our Shire to enjoy.
